Dr. Ron Oberstein - President at Life Chiropractic College West

Ron Oberstein, DC

BIO

Dr. Ron Oberstein graduated from Life Chiropractic College (now Life University) in 1981. Prior to becoming the president of Life West, Dr. Oberstein was a member of the Life Chiropractic College West Board of Regents from 1991 to 2016, including two years as the Chairman of the Board.

As an active member of the chiropractic community, Dr. Oberstein has served in instructional and leadership roles in numerous organizations. He has taught chiropractic technique, philosophy and principles in multiple chiropractic colleges and throughout the world. Dr. Oberstein strongly conveys chiropractic vitalism with a deep understanding of the salutogenic health model and its incredible value for patient care.

Dr. Oberstein and his wife of 30 years, Dr. Mary Oberstein, have practiced together since 1986, serving multitudes of patients and mentoring new graduates. They travel the world spreading the chiropractic message, and they started a nonprofit organization delivering chiropractic care globally to children and adults in need with a focus in Tijuana, Mexico. They have three daughters, Drs. Lauren, Morgan and Sydney, all of whom are chiropractors.

Chiropractic: Global Health Improvement and Local Health Outcomes

Improve the research-based foundation of your chiropractic technique and better understand the global health context in which chiropractic operates. With this class, participants will:

Dan Murphy, DC

BIO

Dan Murphy graduated magna cum laude from Western States Chiropractic College in 1978, and has more than 34 years of practice experience. He has a Diplomat in Chiropractic Orthopedics. For 30 years he has served as part-time faculty at Life Chiropractic College West, where his academic rank is that of Professor. He has taught more than 1,400 post-graduate continuing education seminars. Dan Murphy is a contributing author to the books Motor Vehicle Collision Injuries, and Pediatric Chiropractic. From 2003-2009 Dan Murphy was the Vice President of the International Chiropractic Association, and was honored to be chosen as “Chiropractor of the Year” 2009 -2010.

The Chiropractic Adjustment and the Innate Basis of the Subluxation

The audience will gain a working knowledge of the biological evolutionary reason for the existence of the subluxation and the use of chiropractic adjustment.

An understanding of human evolution explains the biological basis of the chiropractic subluxation
A hypothesis is presented that logically argues as to why all humans should be checked for subluxations and adjusted as needed
A hypothesis is presented and supported in the scientific literature as to why subluxation correction through chiropractic adjustment and other means should be maintained throughout life

Dr. Selina Sigafoose

A 1989 graduate of Life Chiropractic College, Selina and her husband, Kevin Jackson, have been practicing together in York, PA since the early nineties.

One of the keys to maintaining their large, high-volume practice is her ability to boil down the chiropractic philosophy in a way that their average new patient can take something truly meaningful and impactful away during a new patient orientation that lasts less than 15 minutes.

In addition to her practice, Dr. Sigafoose is one of 14 founding members of The League of Chiropractic Women - serving on the Executive Board and as Treasurer. She expanded her role in the chiropractic community elsewhere as well - stepping in as the first female Vice President of the International Chiropractors Association where she spent the previous 6 years as Secretary & Treasurer.

Dr. Deed Harrison

Deed E. Harrison, D.C., graduated from Life-West Chiropractic College in 1996. Dr. Harrison has developed and researched original spinal rehabilitation procedures and has lectured to thousands of Chiropractors in over 300 educational conferences around the world. He has authored approximately 100 peer-reviewed spine related publications, 4 spine textbooks, and numerous conference proceedings. He is a highly respected chiropractic researcher and authority in today’s profession.

Dr. Harrison is a manuscript reviewer for several peer-reviewed Spine journals including: Spine, Clinical Biomechanics, Clinical Anatomy, Archives of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, the European Spine Journal, BMC Complimentary Alternative Medicine, and BMC Musculo-Skeletal Disorders.

Additionally, Dr. Harrison is a member to the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine (ISSLS), is a former International Chiropractors Association’s (ICA) Nevada State Assembly Representative member, and is the acting Chair of the PCCRP Chiropractic Radiography Guidelines. He formerly held a position on the Chiropractic Physicians Board of Nevada. Currently, Dr. Harrison is the President / CEO of Chiropractic BioPhysics® (CBP®)Technique & Seminars and is the President of CBP NonProfit, Inc. – a spinal research foundation.

Dr. Brad Glowaki has combined his pro-business philosophy and expertise in wellness to help corporations institute wellness programs in the workplace. He hosts educational forums around the globe to share his knowledge with other doctors. He is not a coach but has frequently been asked to speak at a variety of venues, from the big stage to the corporate office. He shares methodologies and techniques to communicate the message of chiropractic's benefits to the masses and has amassed more than 10,000+ speaking hours. “Dr. Glow” was named the 2012 Parker Seminars "Chiropractor of the Year," Doctor of the Year in 2008 by the CCA, and the 2010 CLA International Ambassador of the Year for his global seminars outside of the U.S. and Canada.

Betsy Butterick

At first glance, communications training and basketball coaching may not seem that similar. But as Betsy Butterick knows, each requires the perfect mix of technique, repetition, playfulness, and trust. As a Coach with Own The Room, she loves helping people discover new skills and reach their full potential in a fun and meaningful way.

A former college and professional women’s basketball coach, Betsy spent over a decade working with teams like Stanford University, the WNBA’s Seattle Storm, the University of Washington (and many more). In 2015, she launched her own business, offering communications coaching to both athletics professionals and leaders at top tech companies in California. A talented motivator, she’s presented at national events like the Women’s Basketball Final Four, the Junior NBA Youth Basketball Leadership Conference, and Ohio University’s Global Coaching Symposium. Betsy holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Claremont McKenna College and an Integral Coach Certification from New Ventures West.

Dr. Ian Davis-Tremayne

Since 2008, Dr. Ian Davis-Tremayne, D.C. has been fortunate to see thousands of clients in his personal clinic, Upper Cervical Chiropractic of Marin in Mill Valley, Ca, his hometown. His personal mission is to change as many lives as possible, whether the client can afford care or not.

Dr. Tremayne is also co-founder of The Upper Cervical Revolution, where he travels the world training other Chiropractors and Chiropractic Students on how to become the future leaders in the Upper Cervical community. He realizes that the best way to touch the world is through the hands of his students.

In addition to studying Knee-Chest Upper Cervical, Dr. Tremayne has completed the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association’s training in Pediatrics, Pre and Post Natal Care, and The Webster Technique for In-Utero Constraint. He also organizes Chiropractic mission trips every year to serve the less fortunate.

Dr. Ryan Lazarus

Ryan Lazarus DC, MSc, CNS is the clinical director at Lazarus Chiropractic & Wellness located in the Napa Valley and Diablo Valley. He’s a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner with the Institute for Functional Medicine and a Board-Certified Nutrition Specialist. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer West and Master’s degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from The University of Western States. He is a health consultant, researcher, entrepreneur and currently lectures for Standard Process regarding whole foods nutrition strategies.

Continuing Education —

Up to 20 Hours of CE Credit

California attendees will earn all annual required CE categories. Friday and Saturday: 12 CE hours*, including 4 hours California mandatory topics. Sunday: 5 X-Ray hours. Online: 3 hours* via exclusive Life West online seminars, including 2 hours Ethics.

*The number of hours eligible for CE varies according to State Board regulations
